Good Start...Bad End

It's been a rough couple of days so I'm just getting around to the blog from the weekend.  The kids haven't been behaving very well so I'm apologizing in advance if this blog comes off as negative ;-)

Friday morning I took the kids to a place called Wonderscope - A Children's Interactive Museum.  Turns out it's an old school that they turned into a place for kids. Each room/classroom offers something else for the kids to do,learn, explore.  For example, the Market Room.  There are grocery carts, pretend fruits/veggies, a garden, an egg coup, etc. There is a water room, a giant lego room, a room with golf balls and different types of funnels and ramps that you can use, a music room.  The kids had a great time.

Friday Vivian got her new sheet in the mail and she was excited...however, Henry was wanting to know where his sheets were.  We've been talking about finishing Henry's room since we haven't done anything to it since we moved in 2 years ago.  So Saturday night we headed to Pottery Barn Kids to get him some sheets and new bedding.  We told him this on the way to the store.  Well the quilt we got we had to order and we decided to wait on the sheets until we got the quilt.  So we came home empty handed.  Well wouldn't you know....right before bed Henry cried and cried saying "new sheets??" So after Dan got the Vivian in bed I headed out to 5 stores to look for some cheap sheets to get us by until we decided on what we wanted.  You think this would be easy....well think again. Dan said the only way he would settle down was by telling him that mom was at the store buying him new sheets.  Exhausting.

Dan ended up working in the office most of the weekend so that left me in charge....and so it begins.  The kids have been bickering alot and not sharing very well.  Vivian's been quite a handful the last few days.  Dan was out of town Monday night so after naps I took the kids to Borders.  I had to get a book and I let them each pick out 2 books, since I had a coupon. Once I got the counter they said I couldn't use the coupon so the kids both had to put one book back.  So they had to pick.  It wasn't easy but they each picked a book and we left. Once in the car Vivian said "Henry's book has more pages than me, that's not fair" and she proceeded to cry the whole way home.  Since Dan was gone I had to read to both kids and we usually have both kids go into one room, read books. I.e. we all go into Henry's room, read books, tuck him in and head to Vivian's room.  The kids were fighting on whose room we went to first so I said "let's flip a coin"  Vivian said "if it lands on the castle (tails) we go to Henry's room first, if it lands on the man (heads) we go to my room first."  Easy.  Well think again. I threw the coin in the air and it landed on heads, which meant Vivian's room first.  She had and instant meltdown and cried for the next 30 mins.  Needless to say she didn't get to come to Henry's room - I sent her straight to her own room.

Tuesday afternoon Vivian was supposed to go over to Haley's house to play....however, that didn't happen. She wasn't behaving very well on Tuesday and I told her if she didn't eat her lunch she wouldn't go play at Haley's house.  After 45 mins at the table she still hadn't finished.  I took Henry upstairs to put him down for a nap and told her to eat this piece of pizza. If she ate it all by the time I got back she could go to Haley's and play.  When I got back downstairs there was nothing on the table. Oh on a side note I took both the dogs upstairs with me when I read to Henry just in case she would try and feed it to the dogs.  Since I didn't see the pizza I said "did you eat your pizza?" she said yes and pointed to her stomach.  I said "oh it's in your stomach...ok."  I walked over to the trash can and opened it....and there was the piece of pizza.  Caught in a nice little lie.  She spent the next hour in her room and DID NOT get to play at Haley's house.

So Tuesday night after dinner, Dan was now home and mom left the house for a little bit.  I went to the bookstore and got yet another book that Vivian's preschool teacher had recommended "The Difficult Child"
The first few pages give descriptions and you have to determine which one fits your child.  For those of you that know Vivian do you think this is an accurate description??
VERY STRONG WILLED, STUBBORN, GOES ON AND ON NAGGING, WHINING, OR NEGOTIATING IF WANTS SOMETHING, RELENTLESS, WONT GIVE UP, WEARS YOU DOWN, MAY HAVE TANTRUMS.
Hmmmmm.....sounds exactly like my child doesn't it????????

So this is the new book I will begin reading and see if it will have any miracle processes that may help us out.  Tomorrow Vivian has gymnastics and I go to the dentist.  Dan is home and the house feels more complete.  Enjoy the pictures!!

Some belated pictures from my birthday.  We forgot our camera so I was waiting for my friend to send these to me!
