Over the river and through the woods....

To the lakehouse we will go....and that is exactly what we did.  Some friends invited us to the lake with them and we decided to go.  Last summer we had several friends invite us to the lake but we always declined.  This year since the kids are that much easier we finally accepted, and I'm SO glad we did!!!

Mike and Amber have a little girl Vivian's age, Molly.  Vivian and Molly take dance together and have been in the same PDO class.  They also have a little boy Henry's age, Hayes.  Henry and Hayes are in the same PDO class too.  So it works out nice.  After lining up a house/dog sitter we headed to Grand Lake in Jay, OK on Friday afternoon.  It was about a 4 hour drive.  Molly didn't know Vivian was coming so it was a nice surprise.  Now when someone invites you to a lake you think cabin, quite the opposite.  This was a  5 bedroom, 5 bath lakehouse with a private drive and tennis court.  The side of the cabin that faces the lake has 3 decks and a hot tub.  The house has a steam shower and sauna.  It was built in the 1980's and Mike's parents bought it fully furnished - it's dated and still screams 1983/1984 but regardless it was pretty sweet.  I've included some pictures. We had a really nice time and the kids got along great.

Vivian and Henry both got in the lake and swam around.  We took turns going down and hanging out in the lake and watching the kids.  The icing on the cake would've been if the waverunners worked, but no such luck.  On Saturday there were about 30+ boats in the cove where the house sits.  It was so relaxing to just be around a lake environment.  Thinking we need to downsize our KC home and work on getting a lakehouse...well cabin is probably more realistic for us! :-)  Both kiddos fell asleep on the ride home on Sunday and the dogs were excited to see us when we got home.
